When was the last time you were thanked for paying your taxes?
I haven’t ever been, but I thank smokers for paying extra so I don’t have to.
Back when I was in the Navy, most of the time whenever someone said “Thanks for your service” I usually replied with “Thanks for paying my salary.” So, does that count?

Usually they laugh because they think I’m joking. What they didn’t know was that I worked about 30 hours a week and probably made double the market wage for my job.
Hmmmm. Never. No one has ever thanked me for jury duty either.

People have thanked me for voting but never for paying taxes.
