My Dad’s company picnic was full of activities for the family. One activity drew a long line, the Euro Bungee. On the Euro Bungee, you get to jump on a trampoline while strapped to bungee cords that allow you to jump 20 feet in the air. It’s fun.
The only problem: the hour long wait. I pointed out to my Mom how rationing of activities at the picnic (line length) compared with health care services rationing with free health care (wait times).
Charge a fee to Euro Bungee users the line might shrink as some decide its not worth the fee and the event company might bring more Euro Bungees to the picnic to satisfy demand and maximize their revenue.
Obama’s current plan looks to provide one Euro Bungee for free and another for a fee, though Phyllis Schlafly makes great points against the ideal and the real in her column High Cost of Obama’s Health Care Plan.
